DENVER FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FULL FEATURE FILM LINEUP FOR DFF41
The 41st Denver Film Festival will showcase over 130 feature films, including a special 4k Red Carpet Presentation of Alfonso Cuarón’s latest film, Roma.
October 10, 2018 (DENVER) – The Denver Film Festival (DFF), produced by Denver Film Society (DFS), announced today the complete feature film lineup for this year’s Festival. The lineup includes a special Red Carpet Matinee presentation of Alfonso Cuarón’s latest film, ROMA, on Saturday, November 10 at 2:00pm. The most personal project to date from Academy Award®-winning director and writer Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Children of Men, Y Tu Mama Tambien), ROMA follows Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), a young domestic worker for a family in the middle-class neighborhood of Roma in Mexico City. Delivering an artful love letter to the women who raised him, Cuarón draws on his own childhood to create a vivid and emotional portrait of domestic strife and social hierarchy amidst political turmoil of the 1970s. Cuarón’s first project since the groundbreaking Gravity in 2013, ROMA will be available in theaters and on Netflix in December.
“Roma is a modern masterpiece,” says Festival Director, Britta Erickson. “We are honored to present this film—in a special 4k presentation—in the full Festival lineup for DFF41, along with over 200 of the most compelling and powerful works of cinema from 2018. From the latest in American independent film, to riveting documentaries, to incredible selections from across the vast globe, DFF41 is an opportunity for everyone to find something that truly speaks to who they are as a film-loving audience.”
The year-round home of DFS, the Sie FilmCenter, will serve as the anchor venue for the Festival. Screenings will also be presented at the UA Denver Pavilions on the 16th Street Mall, and all Red Carpet Presentations will screen at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. DFS will also be bringing back the Festival Annex, located inside the McNichols Building at Civic Center Park. The Annex will play host to panel discussions, virtual reality, interactive and immersive experiences, community engagement, and a Festival Lounge for the public.
Individual tickets go on sale to DFS members on Wednesday, October 10 and to the general public on Friday, October 12. Tickets will be available for purchase online at www.denverfilm.org or the DFF41 main box office location at the Sie FilmCenter (2510 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80206).
